Virginia Highland is an interesting neighborhood of Atlanta that has homes mostly dating back to between 1910 and 1930; the neighborhood is architecturally historic both with residential homes and commercial buildings. But, Virginia-Highland is not just a neighborhood that lets you take a glimpse back in time architecturally; it is also a neighborhood that looks forward to the future.

Virginia-Highland became the first carbon-neutral zone in the country in 2009, with the help of the Chicago Climate Exchange. Virginia-Highland home owners enjoy a wide selection of shopping venues and quality restaurants that the neighborhood has to offer. It is also near Piedmont Park and contains John Howell Memorial Park and Orme Park as well. Virginia-Highland also hosts the Summerfest neighborhood event in early June annually. Virginia Highland is sometimes mispronounced as “Virginia Highlands.”
